FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) 1. I want to merchant at Wisteria, what do I have to do? First you will need to register for the event (Solstice, Cornstalk or both). While doing the registration for attendance, you can also register as a merchant. You can also register as a merchant at a different time. There is a link on the Registration site or you can go to the Merchant page, www.wisteria.org/merchant.htm and select the size site you need and identify which one of the three areas you would like to have your merchant site located and pay your merchant fee. You will also need to provide your contact information, business name and a short description of the items you will be selling. You must be registered for the festival in order to be a merchant at Wisteria Cornstalk. 2. Are there specific hours that I need to have my shop open? No. Each merchant can determine for themselves the amount of time that they wish to stay open. We encourage merchants to balance commerce with community. If you leave yourself time to enjoy some of the many activities, you will have a more enriching time. 3. Will someone tell me if I receive a merchant site? The Merchant Coordinator will contact you once your registration is verified and your merchant fee has been paid. 4. Where will I be located in the campground? The merchant area is located in a central part of the campground across from Caffeina's, the on-site restuarant. This busy area is near the Green Man Tavern, the Wisteria Stage, First Aid Station and the Wisteria Office. 5. Can I pick my site? No, site assignments will be made by the Merchant Coordinator. Returning merchants may request prior site(s) and we will do our best to accomodate special requests. 6. Can I camp at my merchant site? The size of the merchant sites allows for merchants to camp in that space. You are also free to camp in other areas of the campground if you like. If you plan to camp in an RV (self-contained only), you may not have enough room in your merchant space and may need to camp in the designated RV camping. 7. What about my vehicle? There will be a parking area located past the RV camping. If you need to leave your vehicle at your merchant site, it will need to fit within your assigned site. If you are not using it for camping, vending, or storage, we recommend that you park in the parking area. Once parked, expect to stay parked during your stay. If you need to commute, let the Merchant Coordinator know so that your vehicle can be directed to the commuter lot. 8. Who do I go to if I need assistance? Pam is Merchant Coordinator. She can be reached at pam@wisteria.org. During events, she can usually be found at the Wisteria Market & Office next to Caffiena's. Other Wisteria staff can reach Pam for concerns or questions. 9. May I advertise to attract customers? Feel free to tell your customers about the event and direct them to www.wisteria.org. If you would like to take literature to other places, contact pam@wisteria.org. Word-of-mouth is also a great form of advertising and a good way to attract more attendees to buy your goods and enjoy the event. Please ask your friends, supporters and happy customers to spread the word. Participate in the discussion on the Wisteria Friends e-group in advance of the festival to see if there are particular things folks are looking for. If you have other appropriate outlets (podcasts, newsletters, blogs, etc., we appreciate your help to advertise where appropriate. To join the discussion list, email info@wisteria.org and state that you want to join the group. Write a great listing describing what you will have to sell. 10. Are there items that I cannot sell? You cannot sell food products, beverages, alcoholic beverages (unless approved by the Merchant Coordinator), firearms, fireworks or items that are prohibited by local, state, or federal laws. If you have a question about the nature of your goods, please discuss with us prior to the event so that we can determine if they are appropriate. 11. What do I do upon arrival? Once you arrive at Wisteria, check in at the Gate with your ticket (which is mailed to you after registration). More details on this to come . . .
