NATARAJ HAUSER
Nataraj began doing contact
improv dance in 2003, after the aches and pains of two decades of
martial arts encouraged him to find a new hobby. The ensuing
years were filled with taking every class, workshop, and extended jam
experience that he could fit into his life without ruining either his
20-year marriage or his logistics career in corporate America.
The playful, improvisational nature of contact improv has changed the
way Nataraj approaches life. He is no longer worried about
navigating the twisting, uncertain landscape of life after learning
that he can trust his experiences and intuition to find a path
regardless of his current position. Trust, and a good
life-partner like his wife Reena, and dance-partner like Megan, can
open many avenues leading to amazing and creative things. His
exploration of dance has also led him to also pursue aerial dance
under the tutelage of Cycropia Aerial Dance in Madison, WI, and
ecstatic dance wherever there is a bonfire.
MEGAN BROWN
Megan discovered Contact
Improv 10 years ago in a college theater program. It helped her
change how she thinks of relationships and how she responds to the
surrounding. Megan uses it to maneuver a little closer to a mindful
life, and to perform improvised works with Nataraj. Contact improv
has brought her to the practice many types of movement, including
hatha yoga, aerial dance, and stiltwalking.
