A primer to
overcome disaster, nuclear holocaust, and just plain getting lost
This three
part series will cover basic survival techniques like finding food,
water, shelter & creating fire, while at the same time addressing
techniques for surviving nuclear and natural disasters. We'll
cover time tested techniques and practices and also include a number
of new ones, like secret uses of your cell phone that the government
doesn't want you to know. If you've ever wanted to be totally
self sufficient and secure that you're going to make it through
anything, this workshop is for you!
Patrick
McCollum is a nationally recognized spiritual leader in the Wiccan
faith community that has in recent history gone where no Pagan has
ever gone before. He was recently selected by the United States
Commission on Civil Rights to advise Congress and has been active for
more than two decades in the areas of human rights and social justice.
Patrick is an
expert in wilderness and urban survival techniques and specializes in
teaching how to survive catastrophic events. He
previously taught survival for both Search and Rescue and for several
law enforcement agencies and has shared his knowledge on this subject
nationwide. Patricks approach to survival is Hands
On, encouraging participants to understand the fundamentals of
survival and sustainability as applied to all aspect of the modern world.

Patrick is
Director of the National Correctional Chaplaincy Directors
Association and serves as the Chaplaincy Liaison for the American
Academy of Religion. He is also a Professional Member of both
the American Correctional Chaplains Association (ACCA) and the
Associated Chaplains in California State Service (ACCSS) and was the
Keynote Speaker at the ACCSS annual Chaplains Training
Conference in 2005. He also served as the Keynote speaker for
the North Carolina Department of Corrections in 2006.
Patrick was an
invited speaker at the Parliament of the Worlds Religions in
Barcelona, Spain in 2005 and serves as the Statewide Wiccan Chaplain
in the California Department of Corrections. Patrick advises
numerous state and federal correctional systems on religious
accommodation and chaplaincy issues and received a commendation from
the California State Senate for his work in 1999. In 2007,
Patrick was instrumental in achieving the approval the Pentacle on
military headstones and was also recommended to former Secretary of
State, Madeline Albright, to join a special team to help negotiate
peace in the Middle East.
