Work Exchange

Interested in a work-exchange with Wisteria?  Send an email to kenny@wisteria.org with the Volunteer Application Form completed (download volunteer application).

We are looking for responsible adults who can work happily with our community to host these amazing events.   In return for a 4.5 hour work shift per day, volunteers are allowed to attend the event for free, receive a camping spot, and enjoy early entry.  We also provide meals for all of our staff.

We need:  certified lifeguards, cooks, food service workers, general maintenance crew, gate keepers, security and parking, medical skills, storekeepers, general help for set-up/take-down and utility workers.

Staffing.  Most of the work for Solstice and Cornstalk will be staffed by our work-share program.  Our requirements are a 4.5/5-hour per day labor commitment.  In return, staff members are allowed free to the event and receive a portion of food vouchers to spend with food vendors.  Basically, we provide a part-time job and in return, we expect people to show up on time and work cooperatively and fairly. While working at festival is not the same as floating through leisurely, it is an opportunity to be part of the gears and connect with Wisteria on a working level.

Signing up for staff. Kenny is our staff coordinator and office manager and is very capable.  He can find the best job available that works with your situation.  Through the years, we have learned which situations lend themselves to a happy volunteer position and which do not work so he can talk with you about that.   Returning staff (who have worked successfully with us) are given seniority – please let Kenny know soon if you are interested for this year before we give away your job!

Voluntary Work shifts.  While we will be operating both events mostly by pre-arranged staffing, there are places for those who want to volunteer on-site.  Go to the Wisteria Market when you arrive for more information.  If you put in a 2 hour work shift (or more), you will be compensated with food tickets (amount not determined yet).

Check out our Wisteria Events Calender for other volunteer weekends.

Snail Mail.   Download the volunteer application and mail to:

39617 State Route 684 Pomeroy, OH  45769.

Please allow us until mid-May to reply.  If you need to know our decision earlier than this, please contact us for alternative arrangements.(
