If one Week at Wisteria is Bliss on Earth, what do we call Three Weeks?
Wisteria Community is so pleased to announce our expanded summer season of events and camping. Starting from June 20 through July 12, we have three continuous weeks of activity to keep your soul fed and refreshed. Come to one week or come to all three:
First event of the season is Wisteria Summer Solstice Gathering (June 20-27). Wisteria Solstice is an immersive intensive with hundreds of people living in cooperative eco-spiritual culture. You will never be the same after you experience how good life can be when responsible, freedom-loving people come together to create a musical, artistic atmosphere of love and creativity. Hear daily concerts on three stages with quality musical and performance acts, workshops, ceremony, speakers and much more. Preregistration is required for Solstice, no at-gate registrations accepted or discounts for partial attendance.
We’re becoming known for our “Temple to the Arts,” our outdoor amphitheatre and stage with a booming pro-level sound system that rocks the hills. Come bathe in the bliss. Enjoy the wonders of nature in the company of like-minded others and other soul-satisfying activities. In addition to hot showers, we have a cafeteria-style restaurant with delicious and healthy food prepared fresh. For cold ones on hot days, visit the Green Man Tavern. Basically, our goal is to provide comfortable safe space with enough features while maintaining the beauty and simplicity of a natural and private setting in the middle of our spacious, rural 620 acres. Next stop: The Wormhole (June 28 through July 5), a sweet spot of open camping between two events (Solstice and Starwood). Make your own fun in the company of others! Spontaneous performances and activities are welcome but there will be no pre-programmed scheduled entertainment. Relax all day, drum and dance at night or sit by a fire and laugh with your friends. It’s YOUR time so start thinking what you would do with so much free time in your life to decompress, reconnect with nature and enjoy the spacious outdoors here in the Appalachian foothills.
Wormhole is also a good time to come a few days early for Starwood and get your encampment situated. Pay per day or pay for the entire week to camp, come without pre-registration. The price for Wormhole time is $12 per day per person.
If you are camping and/or merchanting at Solstice, you can arrange to leave your merchant set-up or tent standing through Wormhole to hold your spot for Starwood. Wormhole costs the same day per person whether you leave it standing alone or stay with your stuff. Each additional person per site also is charged $12 per day. You may either pay for your stay when you get here or pay at the end of Solstice.
The finishing extravaganza is Starwood Festival (July 6-12). Known for the legendary Saturday night bonfire (the size of a small house), Starwood is one of the largest and most renown event of its kind. Starwood bills it as “is the largest Pagan/ Magickal/ Consciousness gathering in North America (perhaps the world).” Quite simply, you HAVE to experience the unique flavor of Starwood to understand how it feels to be in the swirl of things. Activity runs 24 hours a day with diverse musical acts, performances, amazing drumming and so much more.
This year is the 30th anniversary of Starwood which is a major anniversary for the community at-large. We welcome Starwood to Wisteria for the first time this year as they return to their southern Ohio historical roots. Starwood is sponsored by ACE, the Association for Consciousness Exploration and all registration goes through their site rather than Wisteria’s site.
