Kid Village offers a space for our kids to create and enjoy their own festival experience. Parents and guardians are encouraged to enjoy the resources of Kid Village with their kids.
During staffed hours, volunteers are on hand to offer supervision for children to enjoy themselves while their parents are attending daytime activities.
Please keep in mind that Kid Village is not drop in child care.
Guardians using the supervision service are expected to check on their children frequently (in between all workshops time slots, never to exceed two hours). Kid Village volunteers cannot feed any child that is not their own and cannot help your children in the bathroom.
Supervision is only available for children ages 3 and up that are potty trained.
Violation of these terms will result in your child no longer being allowed in Kid Village without parental supervision.
We welcome community and presenter contributions! If you have an idea for a craft, performance or activity that you can offer to our kids- please speak with a Kid Village volunteer.
During Autumn Fires, the festival’s hearth and Kid Village are one. You can find us inside the boundaries of Kid Village proper or around the hearth fire.
Supervised Play Hours during Autumn Fires: Friday and Saturday 9:30 am – 5 pm, Sunday 9am – noon.
The Labyrinth of the Ways
Friday
7:00pm-11:00pm Labyrinth will be attended and Illuminated
The Labyrinth of the Ways was gifted to Wisteria in celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the Between the Worlds gathering, as well as in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the finding of the Land. It was built on behalf of Nemeton of The Ways, Green Fairy Grove and the BTW Community.
It took 2 years of communicating ideas, waiting for life & lives to align, over 11 ton of stone, 3 ton of sand & 6 long months of hard work from an extremely dedicated team to complete. But on September 14th, 2016 the last stone was placed and She was consecrated and gifted to all.
“The Ways” is symbolic of all the Ways of which came together to make this project. There are stones from over 30 states and 4 countries, even more that hold memories, wishes and blessing for all. All of the ways came together, for all of the ways that walk Her paths. We ask that if you have stone from your home, sanctuary, area, etc please bring them along and add your ways to ours. Feel free to write/etc on your offering where it came from. Any non stone offerings can be left in the outer mound.
It is a winding path, and take your time as you traverse. There is no right or wrong way to walk the paths. For we each have our own way and the flow of the Labyrinth is personal to each.
Due to this being a very new labyrinth we ask that hard sole shoes be worn. The path is bumpy and rocks hurt.
In the far back of the outer loop is the start of what will eventually be Queer Spirit Mound & Shrine. Please leave this area undisturbed for the time being.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I will be up at the Labyrinth for a good portion of each day doing some end of season work and finessing a few things, feel free to say Hello. I look forward to lighting her up for you all Friday evening!.

Sweat Lodges
Friday
Orientation at 12:00 NOON for an open sweatlodge to be facilitated Friday evening. Time of the sweatlodge will be determined at NOON ORIENTATION. Open to adults 18 years old or older.
Saturday
At the 12:00 NOON orientation, facilitators and participants will decide whether to have a SILENT SWEATLODGE (no talking during sweatlodge ceremony!) or an open sweatlodge on Saturday late afternoon or evening. Time for the sweatlodge ceremony will be determined at NOON ORIENTATION. Open to adults 18 years old or older.
The sweatlodge is a ceremony to ascertain balance through cleansing and renewal. It is a ceremony to celebrate being human. A sweatlodge ceremony is shaped by both the past and the present. Your spiritual sincerity is the most important thing you can bring to a sweatlodge. No drugs or alcohol; just the 4 Elements – Earth, Air, Fire, & Water. You must attend NOON ORIENTATION of the day you wish to participate in a sweatlodge ceremony. Orientations are held at the Sweatlodge Site.
If a particular group or individual or couple desire a sweatlodge ceremony for a specific purpose, please talk with Doug Sundling to see if such a ceremony can be arranged.
Unless arranged otherwise with the facilitator, you must attend the NOON ORIENTATION
if you wish to participate in a sweatlodge ceremony!
Doug Sundling has been involved with sweatlodges since 1986. Since 1997, he has constructed and maintained a sweatlodge site at Wisteria. While he has facilitated sweatlodge ceremonies at various other festivals, he currently has focused on facilitating sweatlodges for events held at Wisteria.
