2020 Autumn Fires

Thursday – Saturday, October 8 – 11, 2020

Come join us at Wisteria, nestled in the hills half an hour from Athens, for three days of fun. Autumn Fires celebrates the changing of the seasons with bonfires, local music, feasting, drumming, activities, and ceremonies. Highlights of the event include pumpkin carving, pit kiln clay making, Stone Soup potluck, nightly bonfires at Paw Paw drum and dance fire circle, performances at the Green Man tavern, fire spinning, and more!

Ticket prices are a bit higher this year so we can bring you more fun! Prices are $100 adult, $50 kids 3-12. Meal plans are still $65 for the full plan or $10 for Saturday feast.

2020 Barleycorn

Traditionally, European cultures have celebrated the first fruits of the annual harvest at the beginning of August. Come to Wisteria and celebrate the beginning of the harvest season with bonfires, drumming, camping, dancing, and community. Cool off in our swimming pond and join us in the Fairy Float and float-in movies.  Enjoy music, food making workshops, and more!

New for 2020 – your ticket price includes the Saturday feast! No parking pass required for camp by car. Kids under 13 are free! There is no fee to vend at this event but you must fill out a vendor application form.

2020 Appalachian Summer Solstice

June 15-21, 2020; work / community weekend June 12-14

Appalachian Summer Solstice 2020 is a full week of celebration of community, eco-spirituality, and Appalachian culture old and new. This is our first year focusing on regional cultural and folk traditions. Price for 2020 is the same as 2019.

The weekend before Summer Solstice is a community and work weekend. You’re welcome to arrive as early as Friday; you can either help out around the campground and camp for free, or pay the daily camping rate ($15/day adult, $8/day kids 3-12).

We offer two preregistration prices, for the full week (Monday June 15 – Sunday June 21, $150 for adults, $75 for kids 3-12), and or the weekend (Friday June 21 – Sunday June 23, $70 for adults, $35 for kids). You can also show up at the gate and pay for the days you attend (gate prices are always slightly higher than preregistration prices).

Meal plans are available! On site meal plan prices may also be slightly higher than online preregistration prices.

We offer a limited number of work barter slots, subject to approval. In addition to free admission, work barter participants get additional benefits, and the opportunity to join a great team and make the magic happen! Apply to become a work barter participant here.  You MUST fill out a work barter application to be accepted for work barter, NO EXCEPTIONS! The deadline for Summer Solstice work barter applications is May 20th, 2020.

This year we’re offering a meal plan for $65. This includes

  • Thursday – Dinner
  • Friday – Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • Saturday – Breakfast, Lunch, and Community Feast Dinner
  • Sunday – Brunch

You can also just buy the Saturday feast for $10

2018 Autumn Equinox / Hausblot

Come to Wisteria and join us in a traditional blot to Freyr in honor of the second harvest of the season. (If you do not understand what a “traditional blot” is, please contact Donna Donovan). By sharing a blot with the Gods we reaffirm our connection to them and thus reawaken their powers within us and their watchfulness over our world. There will be an orientation at the pavilion prior to ceremony. As well as a community feast on Saturday…so bring your home-made contributions to the meal! Kids 13 and under free!

2018 Autumn Fires

October 11-14, 2018

Autumn Fires honors harvest, Halloween, and Hallows. Hardy campers celebrate seasonal color with music, feasting, workshops,  and campfires. This seasonal event features a community wide pottery workshop and all night pottery pit-firing with drumming and dancing.  Autumn Fires is a kid’s paradise, with cooperative play, crafts, pumpkin carving, and other seasonal activities. Our ancestors will be honored with ceremony, remembrance and an Ancestor Shrine.

This year we’re offering a meal plan for $65. This includes

  • Thursday – Dinner
  • Friday – Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
  • Saturday – Breakfast, Lunch, and Community Feast Dinner
  • Sunday – Brunch

You can also just buy the Saturday feast (prices lowered from $20 to $10 per person for this year!)
